Little Venice
The most picturesque part of Mykonos Town, this lovely seafront district is dominated by grand captains’ mansions with colourful balconies perched over the sea, bringing to mind the famous Italian city. The area comes alive in the evenings when people gather to watch the sunset.
Paraportiani Church
With its unusual architecture and seaside location in Mykonos Town, this is the most photographed of all the 400 churches on Mykonos. Construction of the church started in 1425 and was not completed until the 17th century. Its name literally means “Our Lady of the Side Gate,” as it was built next to the entrance of a medieval castle, which was destroyed in the 16th century.
Delos Island
Don’t miss the opportunity to visit this magnificent archaeological site, featuring a complete ancient town. Just a 20-minute speedboat ride from Santa Marina, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the planet’s most important mythological and historical locations. It is said that Delos was the birthplace of the twins, Apollo and Artemis. The island overflows with historical discoveries, including iconic Naxos stone lions, intricate mosaics and the columns of the House of Dionysus.
