Hampshire

A beautiful Georgian family home lovingly restored from its classical origins, Heckfield Place is a luxury hotel rewoven into a 438 acres of secluded Hampshire estate less than an hour from London.

It is a living place centred on sustainability and a forward-thinking view on the relationship with the land. Each day, produce is picked from its biodynamic Market Garden and organic Home Farm and served in in restaurants Marle and Hearth, under the stewardship of culinary director Skye Gyngell.

The surrounding grounds are bound into the movement and rhythms of nature, which threads through to its character-filled rooms, its 17,000 square foot space of wellbeing, The Bothy by Wildsmith and The Assembly, Heckfield’s programme of experiences inspired by the core themes of the estate.

Food and Drink

Marle Restaurant

Using a pared back style of cooking, we strive to allow diners to experience the excitement and immediacy of food served straight from the earth at our Green Michelin-starred Marle. From the interiors of marble, slate and wood, to the views across the woodland and lakes, through to the simple ingredients from Heckfield Home Farm we serve, Marle restaurant is connected to the surrounding landscape in every way.

Dish to order: Our green juice made with Home Farm greens and ginger is not to be missed as part of a farm fresh breakfast in Marle. Perfect before a long walk across our 438 acre estate.

Hearth Restaurant

Centred on an open fire in the House’s original stables, the cooking at Hearth is simple and heartfelt using classic cooking methods and focussing on the very best produce available on the day. Hearth’s understated dishes express the privilege we feel in working so closely with the land and the bounty it has to offer.

Dish to order: Any of the seasonally changing wood fired flatbreads that celebrate the very best of what’s growing at Home Farm. Best enjoyed with a table closest to the hearth where are chefs are cooking over fire.

Moon Bar

Nestled in the centre of the House, the Moon Bar is the most intimate of meeting places, where residents can unwind and indulge in one of our unique cocktails or explore our collection of specially selected spirits. Our unique list of handcrafted cocktails uses liquors, tinctures and infusions created with fresh ingredients from Home Farm and the gardens.

Drink to order: Any of our sustainable classics that feature a zero waste twist – for example the Heckfield Cosmo which uses blackcurrant rather than cranberry – a more sustainable, Home Farm sourced alternative.

Wellness

Nestled behind a secret door on the edge of our Walled Gardens and looking out over our secluded corner of Hampshire countryside is The Bothy by Wildsmith – our new 17,000 space of wellbeing.

The Bothy by Wildsmith offers guests a deeper, more meaningful connection to themselves, to each other and to their natural surroundings, with an integrated approach to wellbeing. The space is home to:

Six treatment rooms (two doubles)

The Waters – an 18m x 6 m chlorine-free space of relaxation and healing that uses ionisation and natural minerals ions of copper, silver, zinc, aluminium and gold

The Oak Terrace – home to outdoor hydrotherapy, healing thermal experiences including sauna, steam room, temperature-and-mood-shifting Experiential Shower and a bucket shower with ice cold water

Three movement spaces – two fitness rooms and a Movement Studio

The Sun Room – an indoor/outdoor space fuelled by the epicurean alchemy of Heckfield’s Culinary Director Skye Gyngell, with a small plant-based menu

The Bothy Shop – a thoughtfully curated selection of pieces from their made-by-many makers, as well as the complete Wildsmith Skin range.

Each treatment journey by Wildsmith will be intrinsically linked to the estate and led by one of Heckfield Place’s Master Practitioners or widely experienced resident therapists. Eschewing run-of-the-mill regimens, the intentionally curated treatment menu has been designed to empower therapists to connect with each guest and align treatments to their body, emotions and needs. The concise treatment menu includes massages, facials, meditation and movement as well as time spent with the Master Practitioners who specialise in naturopathy, osteopathy, reiki, bodywork and more.
