Being in Knightsbridge, guests shouldn’t miss the many cultural destinations within easy reach – notably the Royal Albert Hall and the selection of museums in neighbouring Kensington, which are always a hit with children too.
For those who love to walk, it’s a great way to see the local area and highly recommended. The expanse of Hyde Park is right on the hotel’s doorstep, with its landmarks including the Serpentine lake (fun to boat on in the summer), Kensington Palace and the Serpentine Gallery for contemporary art and installations. Immediately behind the hotel is the so-called ‘Knightsbridge village’, with a collection of grand terrace houses and smaller mews lanes showing off the beautiful and varied architecture that London is famous for.
Private tours by the Bulgari Hotel include the Best of London, Museums and Galleries, Pomp and Pageantry, which highlights royal palaces and lore, London By Book, which covers everything from Shakespeare to James Bond; and the Jack the Ripper tour, which focuses on one of the city’s most infamous residents, tracing the dark side of London history.
The Royal Albert Hall is one of the UK’s most distinctive buildings and a beloved London institution. Bulgari Hotel London offers guests a chance to peek behind the curtain and experience parts of the Hall that are off limits to public, including the area under the stage, dressing rooms and the underground loading bay.
For families travelling with children, the Bulgari Hotel citywide treasure hunt is the ultimate way to explore London. Designed as a surprise for children, the trail begins with personalised invitations leading to a private driver, who takes the entire family on a clue-driven hunt that touches many London institutions including Trafalgar Square, Fleet Street, Covent Garden and Buckingham Palace. The four-hour experience is filled with fun, history and surprises, and guests may choose to end the tour with lunch, or at Hamley’s, the city’s largest toy store.
