Vive Le Royal Monceau

  • Frankly I could write a blog just about the toilet in our Junior Suite at Le Royal Monceau (a gadget lovers dream with, heated seat, massager, jets for washing and warm air for drying!) however this really wouldn’t be fair as Le Royal Monceau is about so much more

Designed by the legendary Philippe Stark , this is an art led, contemporary beauty of a hotel a stones throw from the Champ’s Elysees. You could literally see the Arc de Triomphe from my balcony.

Seemingly Stark wanted to design a beautiful hotel that made you feel like you were in a Parisienne home and this was definitely the case with beautiful pieces of modern art in our room, a huge comfortable, luxe bed and huge flat screen TV built into the walls at either end.  I could watch TV from my bed at one end or whilst sitting on the buttery soft tan leather sofa at the other.

The bathroom was a mirrored affair with a wonderful oval tub and the products were by Clarins as are the products in the Spa.  The toilet, as previously mentioned, had (and deserved) a room on it’s own! The lid would open automatically as you entered the room and you really needed to spend some time in there to appreciate it’s magnificence, on rising it would even flush itself!

There was also a huge mirrored walk in wardrobe which was every girl’s dream!

The hotel also has a beautiful outdoor courtyard, art book store, gorgeous restaurant and bar and fabulous indoor pool and spa.

Breakfast was a buffet with a chef available to make eggs any way you like them, simply gorgeous. They also have 2 restaurants with 1 Michelin Star as well as the Long Bar and more casual Courtyard Restaurant (read more here).

All in all, I loved this hotel and if you appreciate the finer things in life (as I do) this Parisienne beauty is definitely the one for you!
