Food and Drink

From modern dining in Camélia to the haute cuisine of Sur Mesure, chef Thierry Marx brings you a gourmet experience like no other.

Sur Mesure par Thierry Marx

Sur Mesure par Thierry Marx is a haute couture way to lunch or dine.

Offering a complete sensory experience for gourmands, our signature restaurant, awarded two Michelin Stars, is where Thierry Marx blends the technical and emotional aspects of cooking with sight, sound and taste. With each dish he aims for a profound personal response.

Every detail of the design by Jouin-Manku complements this sensory experience. On entering, guests discover an intimate all-white cocoon, which acts as a blank canvas for the menu. By draping the walls and ceiling with white fabric, we have created an impression of weightless clouds, while in the centre lies an elliptic crystal seemingly suspended in mid-air.

Camélia

Exquisite tastes and a striking design; Camélia is a very modern restaurant

Using the freshest ingredients possible, our Culinary Director has invented a choice of delicious dishes in tune with our busy times. In addition, Thierry Marx has created a menu of seasonal dishes “Daily Marx”, available during weekdays at lunch between 12:30 and 2.30pm. Alternatively, book a table for the afternoon and enjoy a range of mouth-watering patisseries.

Overlooking our peaceful garden, Camélia is a light filled space with beautiful stone and wood floors, and intricate detailing.

Bar 8

Beautifully designed with a dramatic marble bar as its centrepiece, Bar 8 is located on the ground floor next to the discreet entrance to Sur Mesure by Thierry Marx.

With low glass topped tables dotted with tiny lights and wood walls inlaid with Lalique crystals like delicate raindrops, the décor is stunning. Low lighting, gentle music and impeccable service create a seductively sophisticated ambiance.

Enjoy a drink inside, or in the warmer months, choose a table outside for summer evening cocktails.

Cake Shop

With an address named after Saint Honoré, the patron saint of bakers and pastry chefs, Mandarin Oriental, Paris simply had to have a world-class patisserie.

Located at the entrance to Camélia, our wonderful cake shop specialises in delicious sweet and savoury delicacies created with highly skilled touch. Take your patisseries away as an exquisitely packaged gift or savour immediately in Camélia or in the relaxing surroundings of our elegant lobby.

L’Honoré

Overlooking our covered garden, L’Honoré proposes a choice of seasonal dishes and street food options created by Chef Thierry Marx. Choose a table outside and enjoy delicious dishes and impeccable service in our peaceful terrasse.

“We had the best time in Paris and the hotel experience was 5+ stars; the hotel is well equipped with shopping, restaurants and attractions all nearby. The hotel staff were all lovely and couldn’t do enough for us whether it was arranging tourist experiences or recommending the nicest places to eat. We would definitely go back for longer to make more use of the spa facilities. We would like to thank Limelight for arranging everything for us and giving us such a lovely first experience of Paris!”

Find your Bearings

There are few postcodes in the world as exclusive as Paris’s 1st arrondissement, home to Mandarin Oriental, Paris in the city centre.

The manicured lawns of Tuileries Garden are just a street away and the Louvre’s glass pyramid shimmers nearby.

If you’re short on time, get a taste for the city with a visit to two small galleries nearby in Tulieries Garden. The impressionist Musée de l’Orangerie, showcases panels of Monet’s Water Lilies, while the contemporary photography museum Jeu de Paume shows work by both French and international artists. Nearby in Le Marais district, the Richard Rogers and Renzo Piano-designed iconic Centre Pompidou is one of the world’s most characterful galleries. Equally recommended are the contemporary art temple of the Palais de Tokyo and the indigenous art of the musée de quai Branly, both of which are fairly close to the Eiffel Tower, while Frank Gehry-designed Fondation Louis Vuitton is located in the Bois de Boulogne.

Shop Like a Local

Paris isn’t known as the world’s fashion capital for nothing, and whether it’s boutiques or brands, Mandarin Oriental guests couldn’t be better located to shop for something chic. Fashion houses Alexander McQueen and Balmain sit opposite the hotel on the Rue Saint-Honoré. Chanel’s flagship store, with its incredible sweeping staircase, is nearby on Rue Cambon and a little further afield, Boulevard Haussmann is home to beloved department stores Galeries Lafayette and Printemps.

See Some Sights

The spectacular Beaux-Arts building of the Palais Garnier, home to the Paris Opera, is just a short walk away from Mandarin Oriental, Paris, so if you’re in town for a few days, browse its packed programme of ballet and classical music. Meanwhile, the buzzing medieval district of Le Marais, with its cobbled lanes full of crêperies and pavement cafés, is brimming with bohemian charm. Make time to visit the oldest square in Paris – Place des Vosges. (Victor Hugo wrote Les Misérables at number six.) If you’ve got time to go further afield, the up-and-coming area around the picturesque Canal Saint-Martin is peppered with boutiques. For parks, take a stroll around the regal Jardin du Luxembourg with tree-lined promenades, rolling lawns and classical statues.
